Cookies and identifiers

The app

Apps don’t use browser cookies, but they can store information on your phone and read identifiers from it, which the law treats in the same way. Here is what the app does.

Strictly necessary (always on)

The app stores your journeys, places, settings, sign-in session and purchase status on your phone so it can work. These don’t need consent and are never used for advertising.

Advertising (your choice)

Google AdMob may use your phone’s advertising identifier (the IDFA on iPhone, or the advertising ID on Android) and store information on your phone to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud. If you’re in the UK, EEA or Switzerland, the app asks for your choices first using Google’s consent form, and on iPhone the advertising identifier is only available if you allow tracking when asked. Personalised ads are shown only with your consent.

Analytics (your choice)

Google Analytics for Firebase uses an app instance ID stored on your phone to count feature usage. It runs only with your consent where consent is required, and only while Usage analytics is on.

Crash reports (on unless you switch them off)

Firebase Crashlytics uses an installation ID so that reports from the same installation can be grouped. Switch it off in Settings → Privacy and ads → Crash reports.

How to change your choices
